One pot dinners
November 9, 2019
I have been dreaming of a pizza oven forever and we're finally starting to build one.
We love pizza in our family. Once you have the dough base sorted you can go with just about any kind of topping you want.
Currently I cook our pizzas in a super-hot fan bake over about 220C but hopefully that will change this summer once the pizza oven is in!
I also make this dough recipe and freeze it in portions, pulling it out to fill the kids lunch boxes or to make an easy dinner when we're busy.
1 cups of warm water
1 tablespoon of dried yeast
1 teaspoon of sugar
3 cups of high-grade flour
1 teaspoons of salt
2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Combine water, yeast and sugar and leave to rest for about 20 minutes, until frothy.
Put flour into a large basin and make a well in the middle. Add liquid to the flour, along with the oil and salt and work together with your fingertips.
Once it comes together, pour onto a board and knead until smooth and elastic. About 10 minutes. Really dig the heels of your palms in and stretch the dough.
When you throw it on the board it should start to spring back to shape.
Put into an oiled bowl and leave in a warm spot to double in size.
Once it has risen knock it back and split into about five portions. Roll bases out to about 1.5cm thick.
Top with your choice of toppings and put into the pre-heated oven until golden.
